As a manufacturer of thin-film systems for international companies, StratNanoTech guarantees consistently high quality, stability and user friendliness of its machines.
However, various modifications and updates over the past few years meant that the existing control software was no longer able to meet the high demands of the market. A new control solution therefore required a high degree of functionality, standardized interfaces and a modular software design for purpose-specific adaptation.
To launch the ToolCommander® framework on the market as quickly as possible, intensive developer training was provided at the beginning. The machine control system was implemented using an IPC for the ToolCommander® application and a subordinate PLC. Components such as MFCs and valves are connected to the I/O units of the PLC and are controlled by ToolCommander®.
The graphical user interface was realized by WPF, supported by the ToolCommander® framework.
Based on the open ToolCommander® framework, new applications with extended functions and layouts as well as additional integrated components can be implemented in a very short time. After just eight days of training, StratNanoTech began developing its first equipment control as a platform for a system type that could be realized within just four months.
