Simple Onboarding
The ManagedEdge IoT Bundle enables smooth and efficient onboarding of new devices. After selecting the right hardware for your bundle in consultation with our sales team, you will receive the ready-to-use devices with pre-installed and pre-configured software.
Simply plug in, connect and get started:Our provided “Quick Installation Guide” will guide you step by step through the onboarding process until your devices are successfully registered, configured and seamlessly integrated in your KontronGrid web-based customer container. After the initial setup, you can immediately start managing your devices and applications. The setup is done either with the help of a UUID or - for larger quantities of 500 devices or more - via the zeroprovisioning approach. Easily expanded at any time.
Secure hardened Linux®-based operating system for edge devices
Security is ensured by separating the customer applications from the operating system and other applications, for example by means of containerization or mandatory access control systems. Customer application updates can be carried out independently or together with the operating system, which enables flexible maintenance. The integrity of these updates - from the firmware and bootloader to the operating system and customer applications - is protected by digital signatures so that only authentic and unmodified software versions can be installed.
Accelerated response time with 24/7 remote support
Service and support must react quickly in the event of faults. The KontronGrid gives you a good overview of important health parameters of the IoT device. Access the console or graphical user interface of the device quickly and efficiently from a distance via Remote Desktop Shell (RDP) or Secure Shell (SSH). Alternatively, use a temporary direct connection “VPN tunneling” to provide fast remote support at the control level in the customer and machine network.
Automated provision of mass rollouts
With the KontronGrid, complex container-based software developments can be rolled out via configurable templates or native customer applications. Software sets are used that include the boot loader, operating system and app packages. CLI, REST APIs and Docker Compose Integration support an efficient build and deployment process. This enables successive scheduling of various update scenarios on globally distributed edge devices.
