From November 12 to 14, it was that time again: SPS, the leading international trade fair for industrial automation, was back in Nuremberg. Find out what was special about this year's stand concept and how the Kontron team successfully implemented it in this blog post.
The meeting place for the automation industry
SPS has always been regarded as the central meeting place for innovative future technologies. For Kontron, the event is more than just a trade fair - it is a stage to present itself as a pioneer in the Industrial IoT and industrial transformation sector. By participating, Kontron has the opportunity to present new products to a broad specialist audience, make important contacts and promote the exchange of ideas about future-oriented digital solutions.
Planning for your trade fair appearance
Selected highlights...
There was a lot to show off this year in particular. When planning the stand, the focus was placed on the selected highlight elements of cybersecurity, 5G and AI. Kontron's high level of expertise in IoT solutions was also underlined by the holistic IoT bundles from the holistic Kontron susietec®® toolset, which were prominently presented at the stand.
...and a customized concept.
The trade fair concept was planned down to the last detail so that nothing was left to chance during the preparations. The central message this year was: “Everywhere. Everywhere secure. Everywhere connected.”. This was intended to emphasize that Kontron is “everywhere”, fulfills all needs - in the network and in the lifecycle - through customer orientation and develops comprehensive overall solutions for a wide range of industries. With a particular focus on quality, security and customized solutions.
Impressive visual appearance
To implement this approach visually, the stand was designed with a series of ingenious info walls and info cubes that clearly and vividly explain the various focal points to visitors. The “Kontron in your daily life” counter, where visitors can conveniently order drinks from the barista via a web application, adds a special touch to the stand design.

Kontron on the road to success
The eagerly awaited press conference by Kontron CEO Hannes Niederhauser kicked off the SPS trade fair program on Tuesday. Visibly satisfied, Niederhauser greeted the listening guests and gave a vivid presentation of Kontron's annual results to date, in which the comparative figures for 2023 were significantly exceeded in terms of revenue and profit generated.
Convincing presentation on site
From the very first day, many visitors were attracted to the stand, who were guided through the product portfolio by the motivated team of experts. This was an important sign, especially in view of the current economic situation, which underlines the future orientation of the Kontron portfolio. In particular, the cybersecurity solutions on offer, such as the KontronOS operating system, attracted many interested inquiries in the shadow of the Cyber Resilience Act & NIS2.
Expert knowledge to listen to
Even those who couldn't make it to Nuremberg were able to hear Kontron's expert knowledge during the SPS: Kontron AIS General Manager Michael Jacob gave an interview on site about the most important trends in the IoT world and the biggest challenges facing the industry. Additional concentrated expert knowledge directly from the exhibition hall can be heard in this episode of the IoT podcast “IoT Use Case” with Vanessa Kluge, Product Manager Digitalization at Kontron AIS, and Holger Wußmann, Managing Director at Kontron Electronics.
Conclusion: Holistic concept, holistic trade fair success
Kontron's appearance at this year's SPS trade fair made the desired impression and clearly exceeded the expectations set in advance.
